Why did the customer contact us?

Mike wanted to upgrade his heating and air conditioning system for improved efficiency and greater comfort, especially on the bedroom level and in the basement.

Solutions provided:

We specified a high efficiency two-stage gas furnace matched to a two-stage air conditioner. We also added a media filter and a bypass humidifier to maintain proper humidity during winter heating.

On the air flow side, we added a central return to the bedroom level of the home and a return in the basement. The goal of the bedroom return was to remove the hot, stagnant air that gathered at the top of the open stairs to make this level more comfortable in the summer. Similarly the basement return will improve air flow during the heating season. Lastly we used the Aeroseal duct sealing process to seal all of ductwork so that conditioned air reached only the living spaces and was not lost to the outside.
